Blue Moon Villas – Amed, East Bali

The last stop of our Bali roundtrip was Amed in East Bali. We have been planning to visit this area for months and finally we could manage to come.

If you are in Amed, our first advice would be to book an accommodation with ocean view, preferably located on a cliff. That makes Blue Moon Villas the perfect choice. It is a charming boutique resort on the coastline of Amed, just next to Selang bay with Mount Agung in the background. With 17 rooms/villas and 4 swimming pools they provide wide range of possibilities. We would recommend to choose an oceanfront villa. But only if you are not bored watching a stunning sunrise and the wonderful ocean with many shades of blue while sitting on your private terrace or swimming in your private infinity pool. I don’t think anybody in the world would be bored in these things.

Our villa

The villas were located in a well maintained garden full with greens and frangipani trees. We stayed at a beautiful bright one-bedroom villa on a cliff with private balcony and a stunning view to the ocean. It had a comfy king size bed with lots of pillows (which I loved so much), air-condition, safety box, and a nice bathroom. We enjoyed laying on the balcony bed and watching the stars on the clear sky late in the evening. One infinity pool with daybeds and towels belonged to 3 similar villas. There was another couple staying next to us but luckily the pool was big enough for the 4 of us. 🙂 Water temperature was perfect also for an evening swim when I am usually freezing but this time it was a pleasant experience.

Facilities and services

Komang John’s café is an on-site restaurant and bar where you can try various specialities from Indonesian and Western cuisine or drink some tasty cocktails. We had a delicious romantic dinner there and a hearty breakfast in the morning. If you are open for some adventures, you can participate on diving and snorkelling tours. Even snorkel equipment rental is available at the reception. Some nice snorkel sites are just a few minutes drive from the villas. At Jemeluk bay and Lipah beach it is possible to discover ocean wildlife on your own, too. If you are not an „underwater” person, there are cycling tour possibilities or you can just enjoy a massage at the resort.

Why do we recommend?

Blue Moon Villas is a perfect example of the unique balinese hospitality. The polite and friendly staff can help you with all your desires. This is the ultimate place for a relaxing hideaway or a romantic vacation. We would never hesitate to come back again to experience the real essence of East Bali here.
